Front projection, given the recent developments in the level of brightness from projectors, is often good enough for any room. However there are times when a rear projection system is needed. Ambient light control is often one reason and another is that board room systems need remote control and no visible sign of the projectors.
Among the benefits of a rear projection systems are:

fantastic quality of images and data with no detraction from ambient light
no noise to distract the audience
no projector to spoil the view
the presenter can face the audience and not worry about getting in the way of the images
There are a number of manufacturers who provide rear projection fabric screens. The ones that we supply come from The Screen Works, Draper and Dalite. The screens are often used with the fastfold style of portable screens with drapery kits so that the projector cannot be seen by the audience. The screens are also used with fixed frames that are built into the wall of the viewing room.
Rear projection is experiencing a golden period. Plasmas are great up to around 60" screen size. Giant LED screens are great for massive screens - particularly outdoors. But if you want a big, bright video or data picture at sizes from under 40" to over 200", rearpro is the only realistic option. Rear projection is almost infinitely changeable in terms of size, brightness and resolution. So you can have large screen displays almost anywhere. The only limit is your imagination.
Silicon Optrix has developed a scaler that allows you much more selection in where to situate your projector. With Image Geometry Correction a whole new world of creative AV applications opens up. With Image Geometry Correction, installers and projector users are free to position their projectors ANYPLACE™. With correction for off-axis projection in 2 dimensions (2 dimensional Keystone Correction), projectors may be mounted at the top, bottom or either side of the projection screen. In addition, images may be projected onto cylindrical, spherical, or even completely irregularly shaped objects.
