1. Will the projection screen be used in one room or in many different places? If so you need a portable projector screen.
2. If the projection screen is to be fixed how many people will be looking at the presentation?
3. Will the room be one where the ambient light can be controlled or does the projector screen need to have a high gain screen surface.

The size of a projector screen will directly influence the brightness that you will need in a projector. A good rule of thumb is that a 1500 lumens projector will only give decent results where a matte white projector screen is no bigger than 2.1m wide. If you would like more details on these calculations we have a ppt file that will help.

We supply portable projector screens when you need to use them in different rooms or in different offices.
Using wall or ceiling mounted projection screens is fine where the ambient light can be controlled. There are some rooms where the ambient light cannot be controlled and this will detract from the quality of the projected image. In these circumstances rear projection rooms or units will fit the bill. You will need space, you will lose at least 4ft of the room, but in Board-Rooms and conference rooms the quality of the rear projection facility can be worth it.
If the projector screen is to be fixed you will be looking at wall or ceiling mounted projection screens. If you want a screen that disappears when not in use you'll need a manual spring-loaded screen or a motorised screen with a casing. You may, however, prefer a fixed screen that doesn't have a casing and stays on view all the time.
As the interest in having a cinema at home grows, special projection screens are appearing. Generally, these  projector screens are 16:9 ratio and have extra black at the top of the projector screen to enhance the video image. Some have grey screens to enhance contrast and others have micro perforated fabric so that sound systems can be mounted behind the screen. We supply a comprehensive selection.
